About the company

PaisaSmart is the operating brand name for Elixir Equities Pvt. Ltd. (EEPL), a financial services firm with operations in Prop Trading, Stock Broking, Portfolio Management & Mutual Fund distribution, and over 20 years in wealth management under founders who are recognised industry leaders.

Our mission is to build wealth for the next 100m Indians. PaisaSmart is how — a WhatsApp chatbot and an Android/iOS app that make investing simple for people who have never invested.

We ship fast. We work under broker, RA, PMS and MFD licences, so we ship fast without being careless with other people’s money — doing both is the actual job.

Our values are humility, curiosity and passion. Socials: YT · Insta · LinkedIn. Try the product: message 8808990978 on WhatsApp.

Application Process

  • Apply on our site. Screening happens immediately by our recruitment AI agent, no waiting immediate pass/fail.
  • One day of in-person interviews at our offices (you select a convenient date & time) with the founder and team.
  • If we like you we make a decision immediately and share an offer. No long process, no multi stage screening.

What You'll Own

  • Learning Our Stack Properly: Python, Fast API, Scylla DB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Dockerization, Kubernetes on AWS. You'll work across all of it alongside engineers who know it well, rather than being handed one corner and left there.
  • Real Work From Week One: You'll be building and shipping improvements to services, building CI/CD pipelines and deploying databases as soon as your mentors feel you’re ready. The scope starts supported and gets bigger as fast as you can handle it.
  • Production, Gradually: Deploys, containers, CI/CD, monitoring. You'll start by helping run it and understanding how it works, and take on more as you go.
  • Full Ownership of key microservices in About Six Months: That's the plan and the expectation. You'll be supported until you're ready, and then trusted once you are.

How We Work

  • Small team, highly collaborative but individual responsibilities. Growth isn’t gated on tenure. If you can do the next job, you get it.
  • You work directly with the founder. No layer in between, nobody to hide behind. No office politics, no blame games, direct visibility.
  • High responsibility, high level of freedom, minimal guidance. Find a problem, design a solution, fix it. You own your work end to end, including when something goes wrong at 9pm.
  • If you’re right you’re right. No hierarchy, no “do it cause the boss said so”. Best argument wins, regardless of who made it.
  • Everyone is expected to do 2-3 different tasks. With AI tooling enabling us to learn and do more than ever before come in with one core skillset and learn & apply 1-2 completely new skills with us.

Who This Is For

  • You teach yourself things nobody assigned you.
  • The problem is clear, the solution isn’t, and that excites you.
  • You want real responsibility and opportunity to make an impact immediately.

Who It Isn't For

  • You want a defined ladder and a manager who assigns your work.
  • You want remote or hybrid. This is on-site, five days, and we’re not flexible.
  • You’d rather specialise narrowly than learn new things.

Requirements

This is a junior role — we care far more about how quickly you learn than what you already know. Be strong in some of this and curious about the rest.

  • Solid Python fundamentals. Object-oriented design, clean code, and the ability to read a codebase larger than anything you've written yourself.
  • Good grounding in data structures, algorithms and how databases work — SQL at minimum, with an interest in why NoSQL exists.
  • Some exposure to backend development: APIs, services, or anything you've built that another program talked to. Personal projects count.
  • Curiosity about infrastructure. You don't need Kubernetes experience, but you should want to understand how code actually gets to production.
  • Comfort with Linux and the command line.
  • You learn by building. When you don't know something, you go and find out rather than waiting to be taught.
  • Nice to have: any hands-on time with Docker, CI/CD, AWS, or a cloud provider — even from side projects or coursework.

Compensation

  • 15 days paid vacation.
  • Salary is competitive and varies substantially based on the skillset of an individual candidate.
  • EEPL offers an ESOP program to select employees.
